So, as most of you know, I'm deployed with my "stash" of cigars here in Afghanistan.

Last week our guys were transitioning equipment (old to new) and shipping gear back home. There were a bunch of cases being tossed out due to no further need/requirements - so, me being me, seeing a possible "travel humidor" build as a project, mumbled "hey, whaddaya gotta do to get one of those cases? I was thinking of turning one into a humidor for my cigars""...

Remember when you were a kid and your Dad said "Be careful what you ask for?"

So, of course, I blew up Ron's email with a hundred different questions about my new "undertaking"....:waving:

Looks like you got bombed by your military brothers. Very nice! Now all you need is some boxes of smokes to put those bad boys to use.

No worries, no need for more smokes, I packed out every humidor, cabinet and cooler in my house before I deployed!

Now, this should be an interesting build...We (okay, Ron) figured that it would take 12 trays on the initial "build"...shaving 1/2" off 6 trays so they fit snug.

We'll call that "Stage 1". Then I gotta swap out the auto purge valve with a manual, figure out humidity/monitoring...then do it all again over and over and over and over and over again.
