Well, if they do the Yankees need to get past either Texas or Detroit, neither of which is an easy task. Even though I'm totally a Yankees fan, I don't like their chances this year, starting pitching too much of an issue.

Doesn't matter who makes it...Tigers are going to win the pennant. Verlander and Fister have been lights out, and the entire batting order is a threat :p

Even if the Sox win this game and the Skanks manage to pull off an extra innings win, I don't like our chances at all in the first round regardless of who we play. In any case, I still have faith. That said, I'll punch Aceves in the face if he blows this game and I see him on the street some day.

Yes, if I ever meet Papelbon, I will shake his hand for what he did to help us win the World Series, then I will punch him in the face for how much he's blown this year and most of last year.

I literally feel sick. It's like I'm back in 2003 and just watched Aaron Boone launch one over the left field wall. Damn it. The thing that pisses me off more than just watching them blow this, is the fact that all the pink hat bandwagon fans are going to sleep soundly tonight, while the true die hards will either keep drinking or lie awake in bed wondering what the hell just happened.

I've got a serious sports ulcer brewing......
As soon as the rain started, and the yankees handed the devil rays 6 runs on a platter, I knew our season was over.
Bad enough having to watch Pap choke another one, worse to watch the Orioles dogpile to celebrate another sub .500 season, unbearable to watch that preening little shit longoria win it with a homer.
Aaron fucking boone redux.

Sports media is gonna be impossible for the next couple days. Here's how my rooting interests are faring as of this evening:
Red Sox - See above
St. Louis Rams - 0-3
Oregon State Beavers - 0-3
Portland Trailblazers - May not even play this season.
fuck-all, that's depressing just laying it out like that.

I just hope to God that the Sox make no knee-jerk reactions. Do not drop Francona and do not fire Epstein. Both are an incredible combination of GM and Manager. They work well together. Epstein had a really off couple of years in picking up players, but he needs a chance to redeem himself. Same goes for Tito.

This is what worries me.....
I'm not sure either one is safe. Tito is gonna get crucified for the way the Sox limped through September then fell on their collective faces, and Theo has an enormous Lackey/Crawford shaped bullseye on his back.
Fortunately Francona doesn't have that signature fuck-up that Grady Little had in 2003.
Fortunately Epstein hasn't proved himself a monumental idiot like Duquette.
So who knows......

You don't have a collapse like that without somebody being held accountable. Mark my words, somebody is gone in Boston.
