How do you go about blending your mix of tobaccos? do you just gamble on the little bit you have left over from a couple stash's or is there another method?
So I have been blending now for about 6 months and wanted to start a thread for guys who are doing the same thing to talk about our blends and what we find works.

So I got a pipe tobacco recipe that I want to attempt blending. Here's the issue. The recipe given to me as 65% of this tobacco and 45% of this tobacco. And also 70/30 mixture.
I'm horrific in math and my head hurts thinking about these numbers. Anyone have a cheat sheet or have blended...
...already I roll cigars. Coming up with new blends is half of the fun for me. Since I enjoy pipes as well I've started to play around with blending tobacco. I've made a pre-blended kit with whole leaf I had to process and shred by hand which was more work than I cared for even though the end...

Well wrote myself a little app during my spare time to help me remembering what blending I do and help with labeling. It is very simple but meets my need. Nothing fancy at the moment, have worked the screen size for a tablet but once finished hope to have PC screens also. I sending in this post...
My friend is going to trade me some scrap tobacco he has for some computer help. Anyone know anything about blending pipe tobacco? I was thinking get some distilled water and some Knob Creek bourbon and mix 3:1 water to bourbon and soak the tobacco and then toast it some. Any thoughts?
Do you tend to like a single country for wrapper/binder/filler OR a Mix?
Example: Joya de Nicaragua Clasico is completely Nicaraguan while Joya de Nicaragua CyB uses tobaccos from Nicaragua, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, and Peru.
...Obviously, as this thread expands, I hope everyone starts sharing their own ideas and ask for improvements of their own blends. It's a learning process and is a hell of a lot easier when you have a group of individuals to help critique as we all grow in this fascinating hobby.
Happy blending!!
If you haven't attended a Jose Blanco Blending Seminar yet, I highly suggest it - extremely fun and informative. I'll be at this event so hit me up if you're going.
