Has anyone on here smoked an '08 Por Larranaga Petite Corona? How are they right now?

Thanks.
I've smoked a couple from November '07 that were great. I've only had one other PLPC (an '01), and while the young ones were somewhat less smooth than the aged one, they were full of that delicious caramel PLPC flavor.

There is recent thread on another board where someone was saying that the 2008 production has been truly exceptional - I think "outstanding' & "off the charts" were his exact words. He did mention Por Larranaga as being amongst the culprit brands, so I am assuming he meant the PL's.

I can neither confirm nor refute these allegations...

I think the point most of us are trying to make is this if a young cigar is really good it will only improve with a few more years of age. Suggestion....buy young stuff that is smoking well and dedicate a few to somke now, some in 6 months, 1 year, 2 years etc. Experience the evoloution a cigar goes through over time. I think you will be amazed, it will also teach you patience....... Grasshopper.

If it is a really fresh box, like boxed within a few months before you get them, they are great. After 4-5 months after boxing, they go bland & sick. I say smoke them fresh or let them sit for a couple of years.

Yep, I had some that were smoking great fresh, I had one the other day and they seem to have gotten sick. Now I will have to wait awhile. I guess I need to order some more freshies or smoke the last of my '03s.

It's difficult, but I keep a out-of-sight coolerdor just for Habanos long term storage. I try not to open a box until it's sat in there at least two years.
