Still concentrating my efforts on learning CC's. I (Think) I'm looking to get my hands on one of these. Can anybody give me your thoughts about this cigar.

Although you are likely to be inclined towards these because of their reputation, you will be better served by finding a box of the Montecristo Gran Edmundo EL 2010. The GE is a large cigar that produces delicately balanced flavor and power. It is everything we hoped the Sublime would be, but wasnt. The GE are ready to smoke ROTT. The Sublimes are still sitting waiting.

Enjoy your Habanos.

Cheers

Thanks for the imput. As on other sites the rating is both good and bad on these which makes me balk on pulling the trigger. They are pretty expensive and so I've been on the hunt for just a sampler with one of these. I couldn't find one and really didn't want to spend the dough on a box of 10 if the concensus is there not worth it. I have heard and read great things about the GE so I will deffinantly have to pick some of thoes up if I can.

I have smoked about 3 boxes. They are REALLY really good and you would absolutley go for it. You will not be dissapointed. Very balanced and complex cigar. Big potential for aging to. Still have a couple of boxes aging.

Dude Ben! You ever hear of aging :hammersma LOL. Smoking that many takes the hit against that prospect unless you get 10 others sitting in the wings. I smoked one of these and gifted the others away when I was getting married. Sure wish I hadn't of done that cause they were pretty dang nice.

See...it's quotes like this that make me say Hmmm sounds like a winner. So what do you suppose is better the Monte Sublime or the Monti grand Edmundo...maybe I should have asked this question first..:dunno:

Most Montes have need a good amount of age in my experience. Like Ben said the ELs are aged 2 years prior to release so these should be good enough to smoke and perfect in a few years.

Although both cigars arrive with a bit of age, the GE was ready to smoke ROTT. I, and many other Monte fans are still waiting for the Sublimes to come around.

The GE is a much better smoke.

I acquired 6sublimes, tried one and couldn't see what the fuss was about. I've only got 2 left as I bombed a few. Might look to get a ge to try.

Tom - you're really getting into these cc's now !

"BBF" is the Bolivar Belicoso Fino. I've only had one, it was great but I liked the Corona Extra, Petite Corona, and Royal Corona better (again, only like 1 of each, so not a great comparison)--but ALL Bolivars are awesome and worth trying for sure. Not very expensive and seem to be good right away, to me at least. Bolis and Partagas seem to have the most similar profiles to the Nicaraguans I like, so perhaps that's why I'm gravitating towards those as a noob.

The "slb" stands for "Slide lid box," like the boxes for the Tatuaje brown labels. Many seem to think they are better for aging, I can't comment. Though it seems self-evident that bare cedar is better than paper-covered cedar or pressboard.
