This is a Doble vitola and weighs in at 50 ring gauge by 6.1 inches. They came out in 10 count boxes and 2040 were made for Hunters and Frankau.

I love the look of this cigar band. Such intricate and ornate detail. Beautiful stuff. The raised embossing is a touch of class.

The construction of the cigar is very good. The squeeze test is firm, a little give. A very flat top, almost box pressed.

The wrapper is silky smooth. No veins to speak of. A gorgeous creamy colorado brown colour. The aromas from the wrapper is mocha, cream, and some floral notes. Very delicate.

The foot is packed, cold draw acceptable. Cold draw reveals sweetness, floral, herbacous with a touch of cedar.

Time to take this to the flame.

The first few puffs are very floral, a little cream, delicate.

The burn line is fine. Ash is a "Dirty: whitish grey. Pleasant aroma coming from the smoke. Very perfume like. Almost feminine. I really think that keeping my cigars at 59 Humidity in my smoking humidor has really made a difference. The smoke coming from this is ample and very pleasant.

This is a very mild cigar, almost too mild for me. This surprises me, seeing that this is a substantial sized cigar. I think this would be a great morning cigar with coffee or a good cigar to enjoy with champagne.

Very smooth. No harshness at all.

2nd Third: This cigar requires a fresh palate as the flavours are very delicate. some coffee, grassiness, and bold floral and herbaceous notes.

Burn is getting a little wonky. I think it will correct itself. still tons of smoke. burn line straightening out. The floral notes remind me of having to go to a 'chick flick' on date night. LOL. Very feminine. The aftertaste is baker's chocolate, bell pepper and soap?

Final Third: chocolate, cream make an cameo. Like a late night booty call. Quick in and quick out. Doesn't really stay around too long.

starting to get a bit stronger. Could turn up the volume in this department, in the areas of earth and coffee. Pretty non existant throughout the cigar.

The floral and Herbaceous notes have really come on strong. Overwhelming actually. Not my cup of tea. The aftertaste is also full of bell pepper, baker's chocolate and soap. Why am I getting soap??????

Grassiness characteristics have all picked up. The triple threat of floral, herbaceous and grassy flavours really aren't for me. I wish I could get this soapy taste out of my mouth. Yuck!!!! The aftertaste does linger for a long time.

I am hoping that these are in a sick period. If not, this cigar profile isn't for me.

Final Impressions: I think that this marca is not for me. I've had a few LGCs now and always get that soapy flavour.

The final third overwhelmed me. I don't mind delicate, complex flavours however this was grassy, floral and herbaceous flavors on steroids. Really took me for a loop and wasn't really enjoyable as I approached the end.

This cigar has no strength at all. Very, very mild. The aftertaste of soap really turned me off at the end.

I know that this cigar has a cult following however, I can't say I would join the club at this point in time.

Hoping that this is in a sick period. I've got 1 more from the box pass that I will put away for a few years.

Count me as one of the cult that loves these. Sorry yours was not a great experience, but I do think this is a cigar that is worth trying for anyone. It is not for everyone but I think it is a great smoke. Thanks for the review.

I have heard mostly good from these but it goes to show how different taste palettes can be. Great review, thanks!

Thanks for sharing, Kuya

Have heard great things of LGC but like you've said different smokes for different folks. The flavor profile does pique my curiosity but could definitley do without the "soap".
