Ha just started that today. hahaha Can't wait to get a humi that I don't have to watch everyday. I have no mechanical skills what so ever."When I take the sticks out I leave them for about one hour to stabilize before lighting"
If that's the process you are following before each smoke (what a pain in the arse) I would think you shouldn't have any issues with the cigars, just my opinion.
Can't happen, Relative Humidity is just that relative to the temperature, so if the RH stays the same, but the temp goes up and down you are adding and removing quite a bit moisture to the cigars which is not good for them in the short term or long term. Rapid changes in moisture content can split cigars, undo wrappers and cause draw problems to name a few. If you are saying that the moisture will not change but the temperature will, then I'd say it dosn't make much difference, but you will see your RH swing with your temperatures, not stay the same.If your RH stays constant but the Temperature flucutates between 56-65 Deg. Will that affect the taste of your sticks.:dunno:
Mitch I have beads and an oasis. The temp never goes up but hovers around 52-53 most of the time. The RH will range from 60-65. Not sure how I can be adding or deleting moisture but I ha ve been told that I need an external regulator. For this stogieman that is getting complicated so I beleive that I will need to get another humi that doesn't require to much mechanically stuff. Can't happen, Relative Humidity is just that relative to the temperature, so if the RH stays the same, but the temp goes up and down you are adding and removing quite a bit moisture to the cigars which is not good for them in the short term or long term.
