The BurgerMeister
the devil is a busy man.
smoking this one at night hangin' with my father-in-law and watching for shooting stars... so no pics. (iknowiknow... "excuses, excuses." i'll try to do better, i promise.) :cbig:
here's some info: (clicky.)
the beautiful wrapper cracked at the head when i cut it with the Palio (great cutter, by the way), but a little saliva applied judiciously rectified any major issues. so... as stated, the wrapper on this cigar is beautiful. not perfect, but certainly amazing. a nice, rich brown. besides the crack at the head, the construction was great. no soft spots, no hard spots, just a consistent firmness with a little give.
lighting was easy and quick, and the draw was good. i didn't get billows upon billows of puffy smoke out of it, but i had no problems relaxing and enjoying the aroma and flavors.
to me, this is a nice, medium to full bodied smoke with a fairly vast array of pleasing flavor notes. about 1/3 of the way through, i was tasting coffee, sugar, and pepper. at about the halfway point, i started tasting a little cocoa in there. the aroma throughout was leathery and sweet. as i approached the nub, the flavor took on a more leathery and nutty character. the tongue-feel was nice and light all the way.
the burn went a little uneven at times, but i only had to fix it once to get it even again. other than that (which happened right near the end anyway) it was an even burn.
GRADES:
Appearance... B+ a nice, chocolaty brown. near perfect.
Construction... B crack at the head, otherwise quite nice.
Burn... B- went on a couple o' canoe rides, but nothing drastic.
Draw... B+ almost perfect. would've liked it a little looser, but that's personal preference.
Flavor... A complex, but well balanced and rich. yummy!
OVERALL GRADE: B (damn good cigar!)
