A General Thank You to BOTL

While Tuesday marks the official day, this was the Sunday one year ago that things went to hell in a matter of minutes. Sitting on my porch tonight with a Tatuaje Anarchy (felt it fitting) and a beer I can't help but think that last year at this time I was still trying to wrap my head around what had happened. It wouldn't be until the sun came up that next morning that things became quite clear on both how bad it had actually been and how fortunate my family had been. In the aftermath there was so much help from different groups from all over the country. In particular our church and BOTL played the biggest role. It was amazing the encouragement, well wishes, financial assistance, advice and prayers received. It helped a great deal through all that was involved in dealing with the insurance company, personal property claims, mortgage company, and local government b.s. I just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone in the BOTL family for their help and contributions (no matter now small) during the last year. Even if it was just a PM to see how things were going. Thank you :thumbsup:.

Dan... I was just talking to my father in law on Thursday about his upcoming trip to Joplin and your offer to get together for a smoke but you didn't say what Church you go to. He is coming from Sumner Presbyterian church... I know he is staying at a church at Joplin but not sure what. What is the name of yours? PM if you feel more comfortable and I'll pass it along.

Still crazy to think about all the pictures and video I saw of the damage. Just consider yourself lucky to have your family and friends. I wish you continued well-being brother!

I drove through on my way down to school a month after....and it still looked horrific. Glad you've pulled through okay, and everyone was unharmed!
