I figured you guys might appreciate a few pictures from beautiful Fort Carson, Colorado. Right now my unit is here conducting HAMET (High Altitude Mountain Environment Training) I.E. flying around in the mountains trying not to crash. It's definitely a challange! Our engines and helicopters don't operate nearly as well at extreme altitudes/temperatures. It's definitely a great learning experience for all of us in preparation for our upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. Sorry if the quality isn't all that great but these were taken with a cell phone.

What ya reading? Also that large mountain in the background is Cheyenne AKA NORAD. Anyone ever watch War Games? :)
Ahem - it WAS NORAD.

They've been calling Peterson AFB home since 2006.

And please, try NOT to crash the multi-million dollar aircraft.....

That's pretty sweet dude! I've got three guys I play hockey with here in Austin that are chopper pilots out of Fort Hood.

Looks like a blast up here. Stay safe and have some fun with it.

Thanks for sharing Joe, most of the stuff I see is from the movies!
A Joe quick questions, may be a little off but. How does it feel to be in charge of million dollar equipment. Probably don't even think about it, but looking at the pics you all make it look so easy and carefree. To someone like myself never being in the service, I find it amazing! Be safe Brother & God Bless
