i wrote two little reviews of my first cigars montecristo no 5 and romeo & julieta no 2 - both around 40 minutes smokes) but it is really very hard to describe it...
my third and fourth cigar was a partagas series d 4 (around one hour) and a hoyo de monterrey petit rubusto (40 minutes) - i found them being to light and boring compared to the montecristo

but then i tried my first cohiba (siglo I - 40 minutes) - WOW - if i compare it to the montecristo 5 the siglo I is way more complex and more satisfying.

my latest cc was a montecristo edmundo... i expected a comparable flavor to the monte no 5 but somehow it was too light for me... but i noticed that after smoking the edmundo i feel like the other cigars are too small...

in between of this cc i smoked a local brand called che - they have single / double wrapper rubustos and a maduro version and come from Nicaragua
the single / double wrapper are comparable with a hdM petit robusto... cannot compare the maduro versoin since this was my first one...

favorite brands at the moment: montecristo / cohiba

on my to do list:

h. upmann
jose l. piedra
trinidad
bolivar
punch
quintero

Bolivar petit coronas are excellent. Also if you're going through the montes and enjoy the no 5, you can go for the no 4 which would be slightly longer or the no 2's. no 2's can be inconsistent at times but when you get a good one they are fantastic.

What year are the cigars your smoking from? Didn't see you mention it in your reviews. Age makes all the difference in cc's. proper storage also makes a huge difference.

Those Monte Edumundos are fantastic smokes. I haven't had many CCs, but those are on my list for sure. You might try the the LE version and see if it suits your fancy instead.

I am a fan of the Siglo I and II, very underrated cigars IMO.

You HAVE to try Ramon Allones! The small club corona is a complex little guy, with a gingerbread mixed with a grahame cracker flavor that will knock your socks off!

Try to find out their age. Boxed date usually stamped under the box.
Fresh cc's (within a year of production) and those with 3yrs or 5yrs or more on them can be very different.
There's a great article with graphs that shows development of flavors.
