I ordered some smokes from a shop in Arizona to be shipped to California and even paid a buck more because it was being shipped same day Fedex. I could have ordered it from a Pa shop for the same price but the ship was UPS 3 day.

I got my shipping confirmation today in my email and tracked the UPS tracking number and here's what I got,

Status:
In Transit - On Time
Scheduled Delivery Date:
08/19/2010
Shipped To:
SOLEDAD, CA, US
Shipped/Billed On:
08/12/2010
Type:
Package
Service:
GROUND
Weight:
1.00 Lb

SECAUCUS, NJ, US 08/13/2010 3:33 A.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
SECAUCUS, NJ, US 08/12/2010 11:57 P.M. ARRIVAL SCAN
KINGSTON, NY, US 08/12/2010 8:32 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
08/12/2010 8:08 P.M. ORIGIN SCAN

Had I known the shop in Arizona ships from NJ and they were shipping UPS I would have made my purchase from the Pa shop. I'm thinking of calling them and venting a bit but that would probably just aggravate me further.

So thanks for letting me air it out here. :angerhead

sounds like they more than one warehouse in which they ship from, maybe the smokes you ordered were in the NJ warehouse. * just a thought * This happened to me before.

Let me clarify, it was advertised as shipping out the same day using Fedex ground not overnight or 1 day Fedex but I figured hell, Fedex ground from Arizona to California shouldn't take too long.

Texcigars is an "online cigar store".

At the very least, let them know that their practices have lost you (and others) as a customer. Knowing that they lie (FedEx vs. UPS) and are deceptive (appears AZ, but comes out of NJ) is enough to keep me from every doing business with them, and I imagine you won't buy from them again-at least, I sure as hell wouldn't.

I have a very very strict 'burn me once, lose me as a customer for life' policy. On two very rare occasions I rescinded it to appease my girlfriend, and BOTH times each place screwed us over again. Too many places out there are more than willing to give me a quality product with quality service. Since nearly everyone has a very strong feeling about each shipping service, it's very unfair to advertise one but use another.

Make sure you read the fine print on there shipping guidlines. I totaly agree with you on being misslead but before you make the call make sure you have all the facts. That way they can't bluff you. I would imagine Tex will make it right with you and be professional about it. If for some reason they shouldn't just tell them you'll make sure you don't buy from them in the future and will tell all your friends as well about your experience with them.

So, it was advertised as FedEx, but shipped UPS? That alone is jacked up.

You should abso-freakin-loooootley complain!

False advertising on the shiping, and just not right that they didn't tell you where the box was being sent from.

Considering that cigars are perishible, and being transported in the heat of the summer; they should tell you where it's coming from and how long it will take up front.

Called them and they said they moved and are now located in Kingston, NY. They haven't updated their website yet and when they do they'll be sure to fix the FedEx thing. I mean even the confirmation email stated FedEx but guess that's automated too.

Hey it could be worse, they didn't hit me with the NY sales tax! Maybe that's how they get around the ridiculous tobacco taxes, office in Arizona but warehouse and ship from NY. If that's the case I applaud them for their marketing strategy, just wish I knew prior to ordering.

Ugh, that's a terrible excuse. I hate outdated business websites :cursing:. It shouldn't take very much to update and it's something that in this day and age a lot of people are using your website.

Dan, it happens all the time and you'd be surprised how many are out-of-date!

Sorry to hear about that Mike.
