While I got my acceptance letter for TAMU today for their Ph.D. program. I was going to light up the padron anniversary natural that I bought a couple months ago however the weather is crappy outside, raining and it seemed a little to dry. It was buried at the bottom on my humidor so I moved it to my tupperdor and hopefully I can smoke it sometime this weekend.

I might be seeing you Texas folk's soon.

Texas A&M class of '79 here. Congrats Josh! College Station is a great small college town with a lot of history. The campus is great and I think you will love it there.

Congrats! College Station is a bit of a haul from Dallas (a little over 3 hours, if I recall correctly) but close enough to have a herf sometime. A&M is a helluva school with arguably the most "school spirit" and tradition in the entire state. Plus, it's not far from either Houston or Austin, and there are several BOTL members in those cities.

If you do decide to come down this way, you'll learn that central Texas has pretty good weather. Sure, it's hot as hell in the summer, but it's really mild in the winter.

You might experience some culture shock tho. :tonguerol

Not most places--EVERYPLACE.

Every restaurant, every store, every gas station, every everything. Heck, every car and truck has A/C.

When you have 100º summers, you gotta have A/C.

On the flip side, no one has a snowshovel.

Thank god for that, a lot of places on the east coast don't have A/C, but it might be because I was living in the historic district to boot. But from my understanding most people had window A/C units here. So central air will be so nice.

I plan on heading out there soon in the next two to three months to check it out. I'll post a thread when I head out. I'll take my otterbox.
