Greetings,

So i get this provocation to smoke a puro sporadically. Well the last thing i want to do is tap into the goodies i have set aside to sleep for a while. So what i have been doing is trying out some of the more affordable selections from Habanos S.A. to tide me over.

Today i had my second Partagas Petit Coronas Especiales.

Petit Corona on left Partagas Short on the right for reference.

The capa on the petit coronas especiales is definitely mottled and a bit more rustic than the Shorts. The foot was more densely packed then the head which i though was a bit abnormal but the draw is nice and firm like it is supposed to be.

The burn on this one started out so so but it became a bit better. Completely functional.

The cigar is from a box with this code EMO DIC 10 and it has a decent amount of honest tobacco flavour and strength for such a young cigar. It also has a bit of spice on the exhale.

Pretty decent. The way i score cigars is simple. Would i buy another box? In this case, no. I do not regret buying this box though. It is a decent cigar but truthfully, i let it die at 1 hour 5 minutes because i got bored with it.

regards,
m.a.d.

I've always wondered if some serious down time would turn these types of cigars into something better. Been meaning to get a few boxes of Mille Fleurs and the like for a while now.

Nice review... I think these are meant to be a nice daily no-nonsense smoke. They're definitely affordable and a good size. Definitely tempting to pick up a box.

I don't doubt for a second that these will improve with time but they are pretty decent right off the bat. I really cannot fault the cigar. It is an honest smoke. Two of your colleagues have commented that these are some of their favorite cheap smokes.
These do have a little bit of pep in them but i prefer elegance and refinement at the expense of strength and body if need be.

Its just personal tastes, these are pretty decent smokes that last a while and obviously some, really appreciate them.
best regards,

These are not only a fav of mine but the price is great as well. The best part about them being a smaller vitola is that they age faster IMO. After a couple years the strength subsides and gains more subtle flavors. I wish I could stock 3 boxes at all times.
