Well, I bought the hype for the new salomones being release and got a box. It took more than a month, but they finally arrived today.:argue:

Anyway, was wondering what you guys thought about an appropriate aging time? Of course I don't think less than a year, but was thinking 3 would be about right. Any thoughts about deep sleep for these monstrous sticks?

BTW, they have a dang fine aroma to them now!!

Smoke one now...then one every 6-8 months until they reach thier prime. That way you have something to compare it to.

Since you're committing to aging, I'd start with 18 months from boxdate. Smoke one and see if it sucks your mouth dry & gives you a tangy (tannic) flavor. If not, keep on smoking or put them down again if you're not a fan of the flavors. (I don't know your appreciation for the partagas profile) FWIW, many 08 Partagas cigars are smoking very well at this point.

Have only smoked the PSD4 and only 5-6 of them, but love 'em. I have a couple of Lusi's aging, but haven't smoked one yet.

I only have one & I ain't touchin it.. I need to prepare a 'deep-sleep chamber' for a few things so they survive.

Well, that's kinda why I asked. I bought a box of PL Magnificos to put down and the guy said let them rest 3 years . . . that anything before was a waste.

At the same time, I have some Bolivar Libertadors which were supposedly ready to go now. I guess I just don't understand the theory behind what ages apply to what stick.

Well, I recently developed a deep-sleep quick-aging humidor. It ages things 22.3 times quicker than a regular humidor alone! Send the box to me and I will have them smoking nicely in about 2 months...I will return 2 for every 3 sticks you send. Deal??

It depends on the stick, that's why you let em settle down and try one. It depends on how they smoke, if they taste a little young let go for up to a year then try another one. You will get the hang of it. Almost any good cigar improves with age, of course that being said some guys like em young better than aged.

I smoked one the other day out of an 08' box and prior to that one, was a box from 07'
Partagás Salomones were released 2008 for the first time.

And I agree on leaving them for a tad (several months) and smoking every now and then to see how it evolves.
