I have been lurking around the boards here for quite some time but have not posted much at all. The few questions I have asked have been quickly answered with great information. I figure it's about time I become a little more active with my posting and decided that there wasn't a better way to start than to show y'all my porn!

Here's my set up: a 25 qt Coleman cooler had for $20 at Target; two cedar trays from RonC via cigar solutions; an oust fan, two digital hygrometers, a medium 65% bead case, and a half pound (with bag) of 65% beads all from Viper at Heartfelt Industries.

Now, for the goodies inside. Since I'm new to cigar smoking, I have a few few samplers (Olivia and CAO) I'm using to see what is out there. I have some different RP's (Fusion, Fusion 2nds, Connecticut, Edge Lite). I also have some random cigars in one tray from some samplers. Lastly, I have an airtight tupperware container with separate hygrometer and beads holding some Java sticks. (Don't make fun of me, I really like these on a Sat. morning with a cup of coffee) I store this container (sealed) inside the cooler.

While I know I'll outgrow the small cooler, right now it is the perfect size. Now that I've exposed myself to y'all I hopefully can open up and post some more around here. It's a great group and I'm quite glad I stumbled across the BOTL.

Damn that is a nice set up! I would like to know more about the "java sticks" sounds like something I would like to try.

Looks good. I've been wanting to try my luck at one of these. I already ran out of room in my desktop and need the extra room for all the great Tat sticks that are being released soon!

a very good start. Yes, you will need to get a bigger, it's a disease and there is no antidote.

That is a really nice setup. I've been contemplating doing one of these as well. However, I like having my sticks in humidors simply because of the way the humidors looks. They're aesthetically pleasing to the eye. You know what I mean? If could find a cooler that looked cool I think I'd be more motivated to do this.

Thanks for all the compliments guys, I'm happy to share the set up with you. As you can tell from the links, the whole thing was right around $100 which isn't too bad considering the number of cigars it will hold. Not to mention everything could be transferred to a larger cooler (with the possible addition of some more beads).

The Java sticks are by Drew Estate and infused with coffee/chocolate flavors. A smooth "light" cigar that needs to be kept separated from non-infused cigars. The Java comes in two different wrappers and can be had for pretty cheap.

Looks half empty!! Start buying! lol

It does look good.
I'm working on that part of it. Been married for 3 months now which requires a slow and steady pace to avoid upsetting the wife  I've got quite a wish list put together that I'm slowly picking off though.

I absolutely understand what you're saying. The reason I went with the cooler was two fold... 1) we are in a small apartment and I don't really have any place to display a nice humidor. Hopefully when we get a house I can find a spot that would be worthy of holding a humidor. 2) purely a maintenance/cost issue. The $20 cooler is much cheaper than a nice humidor and I love the low (i.e. no) maintenance invovled. I washed the cooler a couple of times before putting anything in it and the cigars get some fresh air 2-4 times a week when I open it to grab a smoke. The temp and humidity remain constant with no issues. (The humidity did fluctuate some when it was not as full. Once full, it has stated right on 65% +/- 1*.) Lastly, this cooler is so small it can fit under a (high) bed or in a closet with ease.

nice setup!

My humidor is also getting cramped, may need to start thinking about setting something like this up soon!

Thanks for sharing!

I just love it when a brother posts porn ! LoL

On a serious note, I am toying with the idea of either getting a coolidor or a winodor. My only issue with coolidors are the way they look. I guess that if I manage to take the coolidor as an option, it will need a long time of getting used to it look and feel. Plus they don't have WAF "Wife Acceptable Factor" :bouncetau

Fantastic porn though bro

BTW, Seriously ? Java ? I wanted to buy them when I was very new to cigars but chickened out. How are they smoking ?

Just think of the coolidor as a backup that stays in the closet. I def don't have it on display but it's always there keeping my cigars in tiptop shape. As far as the javas go, I like them. They are quite oily but I have found that they are quite enjoyable early in the morning or as a second cigar of the day. Traditional "hard core" smokers might disagree but I think it is fun to mix it up every now and then.

Now this was helpful. I've been seeing posts about coolidors in various places, but you really laid out how to do it properly. Love the little fan. Once my second humi fills up, I'll likely go this route. Thanks!

I dig the trays too. I think I'm going to have to pick a couple of those up. It looks like I might have room for some boxes on the side, but I'll have to check to be sure.
