I love the smell of a good wrapper--I mean pre-light. I usually open up my "go to" bin a few times a day just to look at and smell cigars, and there are a few I will always pick up to sniff because I find the aroma so wonderful. Lito Gomez and stuff always has a particularly wonderful smell for me on the foot of the cigar, but lately I've been finding some cigars with great smelling wrappers as well.

Viaje Late Harvest -- Smoked my first yesterday, and am on my 2nd right now. As soon as I smelled this wrapper, I knew I HAD to smoke one asap. Just a wonderful rich aroma of leather, barnyard, and sweetness. Oh, and yea the cigar is great, lol!

Opus X w/age -- This has always been my favorite smelling cigar. The wrapper on an aged Opus is just magical. Spicy cinnamon raisin bread. Amazing. I keep an aged Opus in my go-to bin just to sniff!!

So what are some cigars that you think have wrappers that smell amazing? Do you think that a great-smelling wrapper leads to a greater cigar, or is it just the power of suggestion?

I've bought several boxes of Torano Tribute 2008 over the last couple of years. I like the cigars a lot (obviously) but I always spend a few minutes smelling the wrapper before I light up. It's oily, sweet, and has a powerful grassy aroma that I love. I don't have a lawn anymore, so this is as close to fresh grass blades as I get. lol.

I just recently went to removing all the cello. What a great smell when I open the cooler. Maybe just because they're on top, but the UCs are wonderful. Almost a citrusy kind of coco smell.

AF Anejos have a wonderful smell to them. Baryard-ie and molasses. So good! They definitely smoke well too!

I'd say forum list would go like this (in no order)
Anejo
Opus X (fresh or aged smells awesome)
Baitfish (the wrapper isn't too pretty, but the smell is intoxicating)
Liga L40 (best smelling of all Ligas, FFP comes close)
Tat TAAs (again, wrapper is nothing to write home about, but the smell is fantastic)

Cojonu 03 is the TIT! Love the smell of the wrapper. I think most Tat's have a nice aroma but an 03 just blows me away.
Others I enjoy are
Opus X
T52's
Padron 80ths
CC Monti's

I love the smell of wrappers, almost more than the smoke itself.

SW maddy, quesada Oktoberfest, opus and I guess any my father factory cbl to name a couple of my faves.

Lots of good ones here!

And I forgot one of my new ones! Four Kicks. Great smokes, amazing aroma from the wrapper and foot. If you have a full box of these, just pull out the bundle and smell it ... holy crap, it's amazing. This ranks up there with any Cuban bundle of cigars I've done likewise to (and yea, I smell my cigars a lot, lol).

Speaking of Cubans, I am particularly fond of the aroma from the wrapper and foot/bundle of:
