I love the smell of a good wrapper--I mean pre-light. I usually open up my "go to" bin a few times a day just to look at and smell cigars, and there are a few I will always pick up to sniff because I find the aroma so wonderful. Lito Gomez and stuff always has a particularly wonderful smell for me on the foot of the cigar, but lately I've been finding some cigars with great smelling wrappers as well.
Viaje Late Harvest -- Smoked my first yesterday, and am on my 2nd right now. As soon as I smelled this wrapper, I knew I HAD to smoke one asap. Just a wonderful rich aroma of leather, barnyard, and sweetness. Oh, and yea the cigar is great, lol!
Opus X w/age -- This has always been my favorite smelling cigar. The wrapper on an aged Opus is just magical. Spicy cinnamon raisin bread. Amazing. I keep an aged Opus in my go-to bin just to sniff!!
So what are some cigars that you think have wrappers that smell amazing? Do you think that a great-smelling wrapper leads to a greater cigar, or is it just the power of suggestion?
