Ammo Can Humidors

What do you think? I am not talking about the old metal salvage cans, but new plastic ammo can knockoffs. They have a rubber gasket seal. Not as sturdy as a Cigar Caddy, and not so airtight and waterproof that you would want to throw it in a lake. But overall, a pretty tough outdoor style travel humidor. I have 2 Bovedas in it, and humidity is rock steady. This size would hold about 7 layers of my deluxe trays, and store from 70 to 100 cigars depending on type of foam tray. retail price of about $60. Any opinions?

Me like. Something a little large to take to a Herf or on vacation. probably would not take it on a plane. Also would work for temp storage.

good idea i have a few empties of the metal ones. i dont know if they are air tight but i can add a rubber seal. very cool

i am working on buying a bunch and converting them to travel humis

My metal ammo box holds the humidity better than any humidor I have ever had.

Concur, great idea. Damn! I just tossed one of the 40mm cans. I'll keep my eye out though. Probably should start out a little smaller too.

I have and empty bazouka round case it bigger and would be cooler than a humidor

you can get the metal ammo cans at any army surplus then just put some cedar and bovida in there and you should be good

Wish there were army surplus stores in Pakistan.. anyway thought they might be great for when one goes hunting.
