Okay, gents, as I sit her outside my house and smoke this affordable but almost-a-dog rocket 59 throwout, I contemplate of what my BoTLs might have knowledge. What can my brothers recommend for me? I enjoy cigars that are "earthy" and "leathery". My wife has scolded me for spending money on cigar deals (kind of, we're by no means bankrupt). Thusly, I was wondering what my brothers could recommend for my medium to full bodied tastes with a man on a budget. What do you recommend? I'm about to leave my full time job and, as the Stark words say, "Winter is coming." What do I purchase to prepare? I've read the under $2 forum, but no nothing specific to my tastes are mentioned. Any ideas, brothers?

I enjoy the La Perla Habana Black Pearl Belicoso or Robusto. $2-3 per stick on CBid. Best smoke for the price, in my opinion Doc.

Obsidian is a good smoke for the money, when CI runs a special you can pick me up for a buck and change a stick

JdN Antano or Tat Fausto purchase by the box off of some of the auction sites. Both of these are more full then medium, but are very good in my opinion...

(these are more like $4 sticks from auctions)

El Rey De Los Habanos:

Regular price is 6ish a stick in box but there are places you can find them for around $75 for box of 23. Not a fantastic stick but a good one.

I've been on a Oliva V and Nub 460 (not the Cain Nub) kick lately since my local B&M turned me on to them a few years ago. They run about $6-$7 depending on where you buy them (catalog or B&M), but I know Holts and JR are always running sales on both of these. You can get a good 20 cigar sampler (5 of the 4 different Nubs) for $70. The Avo Domaine is another good M/F strength cigar.

Strong work, gents. My BoTLs come through with shining recommendations again. Luckily for me, my humidor is currently full thanks to the Vegas 5 A's and a day-only sale on Cain's. my final splurge before the career switch. I have upwards of 200+ sticks right now. But, when supplies start running low, I think I'll have to sample each one of those!

Black Pearl maduro, Bahia maduro, both are great, cheap smokes, I should know, I am a cheap bast&$@!. If you get logged into cigars international e mail list they are always sending out e mail specials like this past week I got 80 5 Vegas "A" for just a tad over 2$ a stick. That's why I bought 80. The Obsidians are pretty also. Had them and liked them...... I may have to order some more come to think about it.

These would be my choice as well. Here's the thing about cigars...You get what you pay for. Although some of the cheaper ones are good (not great), none of them are going to hit you like a more expensive cigar. That's not to say there aren't expensive cigars out there that taste like crap because there are a ton of them but for the most part a cheap cigar is a cheap cigar. These two in my opinion are very underrated for the price....Which is nice. Also the Pardron X series are a nice stick at a cheaper cost.

Haha. Awesome you mention this. I jumped on that one two but only had room for 20. Have you had those before?

Good lookin' out, Griz. I'll have to check those out.
