Martinez cigars are really good (esp. the #9). They're rolled in Manhattan on W. 29th street between 6th and 7th Ave. The owner, Jesus, is a really nice guy and takes a lot of pride in continuing his father's work.

Off the top of my head, the ones that I have tried and consider "good" (a few of which I didn't personally really care for, but still consider them "good"):

El Titan De Bronze - fantastic construction quality, not a dynamic cigar and kind of one-dimensional, but it was unwavering, so if you like the flavors and profile, it's a nice smoke.

New Orleans Cigar Factory - all I remember thinking about this one was "good, but way too mild for my tastes".

John Hay Cigars - only the machine made "Statesman Line" cigars are rolled in the US, they are all long filler and have the same quality tobacco as could go into a handmade cigar, just they use a few 100 something year old hand fed cigar rolling machines. They also utilize a large percentage of US tobacco as filler. Full bodied, strong and "meaty" smokes. Kind of touchy on the humidity, need to be down in the low 60's to smoke well. If you like the CAO America, these little coronas and mini-perfectos are very compatible, and they only cost about a $1.50/stick.

There was also one out of Ybor someone sent me but I can't remember the name off the top of my head, and unfortunately, I believe there are a number of small manufacturers in Ybor - so narrowing that down would be a PITA.

Also a La Playa? La Palma? something like that. Made in Los Angeles IIRC. - Good construction, good cigar, but it's yet another mild Connecticut shade wrapped cigar.

Lianos dos Palmas. Small place little bit south of you in Charleston that rolls great cigars right in the shop. I try to get in there whenever I'm in Charleston. I've also ordered over the phone and by email. Solid customer service and they have access to some fantastic tobacco.

I think Marty (L8A) posted something a while back about a place in NC or SC that made their own cigars. Can't seem to find it though :dunno:.

Cardenas in Sacramento offers some really great sticks. In fact, our soon to be Ex-Governor has some special sticks rolled their. They also have this stick called the "Taco" which, for the price, is a really nice smoke.

Oh, man, the old Cardenas tacos, I miss those, they were just off the hook - all corojo filler and wrapper (not sure about the binder), creamy, spicy, complex, full and subtly powerful - worth every bit of their $8 or $10 price tag (I forget what they used to cost). Unfortunately, they haven't been readily available since 06 or 07, and the scant few that showed up in 08 weren't on par with what they used to be, and since that tiny run that they had, I haven't seen any show up there since.

Funny, I was just in there a few days ago and was talking with Shaun about the long gone tacos & red dragons.

As for where they are rolled, they really ought to update that website, Cardenas cigars are rolled in the Dominican now. They haven't rolled in CA in many, many years. They had a brief period where some cigars were being rolled in Florida, but those cigars were very inconsistent. I don't know if they lost customers over that, but I know I stopped sending out their cigars in bombs because they were so unpredictable. Now that Mandy has the arrangement to have his cigars rolled in the DR, quality and consistency is back where it ought to be.

As for Arnold, there is no custom blend made there for him. In fact, I'm not sure he's ever actually even been in there. The closest related thing they have to him is "The Governator" cigar which is just named after him - and at 10" x 64 or something, I don't know anyone who has ever finished one.
