Any opinions on the CAO Sopranos line?

I’ve been wanting to try them for a while now but they seem a little pricey and I was wondering if it just because of the Soprano name. My B&M sells the 3 sizes for around $10, $12 and $15 I think. I don’t plan on purchasing one until I’m back to work but even then I am just wondering if they are actually worth it or not. I don’t want to spend extra money just for hype.

Wouldn't you like to know?
I think the new la traviata line is much better and a way better deal. I would say hurry and buy these before they change the blend. I haven't smked out of my sopranos box in a year and a bit so lets you know what I think of them. Not bad just not good enough for me.

Thanks for the input Aaron. I forgot about the la traviata. That's another on my future try list. Some guy I ran into in the humidor at my B&M said the Sopranos was the same blend as the Italia just more expensive but no one else could confirm that. The wrapper on the Italia did look a little lighter in color to me so I don't know.

I think the pricing is affected by copyright of the Soprano name, or something along that line. With that being said, I like them. Over $10, I'm not sure, but with deals that usually pop up on CI and Famous, they may be worth it.

The Italia and Soprano taste nothing alike to me.

The price is dropping on them as the Sopranos fall out of the lime light which is good because in my opinion they weren't anything special. I only paid good money for them, back when they first came out, because of the box being a trunk. Personally the only CAO I really enjoy is the brazilia.

I know the Sopranos has the same wrapper as the Brazilia, but the filler may be the same as the Italia. But for the price you could get an Italia & Brazilia and probably save a couple bucks!

Oh and another thing I forgot about the brazilia go with the gol size. It seems to be the best tasting out of all the sizes. Box press is always nice because I like to leave a cigar in my mouth plus it seems to fit your fingers better. A little off topic sorry about that.

I agree with the Gol!. I try to keep a couple on hand. I smoked one a few months ago that had 2 years of rest time on it. It was awesome.

Not to be a wet blanket....but I haven't had a good CAO since Don Douglas was doing the maduro anni's in the robo size. Wish that I saved some but all went up in flame.

I've had a couple and they are nothing special at all, certainly not worth even half of what they charge for them. In my opinion anyway.

Ive only had one and it was pretty bland, cant see myself paying another $15 when I could get something a lot better. But to each his own.
