Wondering if there are any other Masons here. I am from the Grand Lodge in Baltimore but will be transferring to PA soon.

Wanted to be. But the old man (who is a mason) kept me out of it. That was a shame.

Ah, based on the subject I thought you might be talking about people that travel a lot. ;-) The Masons is one of those organizations I've always been curious about. I think I had an Uncle that was a Mason before he passed.

As I am told. You will be curious for the rest of your life. Unless you become one. Hear no/see no/speak no.

Yep, not that I judge anyone, as I have my faults too, but a book I read says that secret societies are a no no.

We can get into the "whole" secret society vs fraternal organization with some secrets... Masonry is no more secret than any fraternaty... There is not a single thing about Masonry you can not find online or in books if you know where to look and what to look for...

I think there is a strong argument that what the good book is warning against is organizations where you do not and cannot publicly admit to its existence or membership in it. Things more like the KKK, the Mafia, Hamas, CIA, Assassins and such. Heck the Boy Scouts have secrets! I'm an Eagle Scout and Vigil OA member, lots of secret ceremonies involved in scouting. In the navy I'm a Blue Nose, shellback, etc. more secrets.

I think if you compared the Bishops and the Pope to the Mason's for secrecy, how you get in, who they let in, transparency of practices and what is conducted behind closed doors the Mason’s are more open. I’m not a Mason for any curious, my Dad was though. Just my .02, hope it dosn't offend anyone.

Heh, I used to work for the "The Company" but got fed up with the politics and walked away. I can talk about my work there in about 2063 as I recall.... unless someone screws up and it ends up on CNN.

I got some attention from the Alfa Bet Soup gangs when I was getting out of the service, but had been through some joint training ops and knew how very screwed up they were.

So, I went private sector to find myself in the same boat. I remember sitting in a hotel room being used as a CP and having someone tell me a story of something I had seen and told someone else a few months earlier, but now they were the center of the story and it was larger. Time to go, so glad I did.
