My wife and I are thinking about going there the first week of September and just wondering if anyone has been and has any good tips on things to see & do, as well as info on places you've stayed and either loved or wasn't impressed and why. I definitely would like a place where there is no problem with enjoying a cigar on the veranda/balcony whichever the case may be and hopefully lots of other places as well (bars, restaurant patios, resort/hotel grounds, etc...)
We are considering going there or possibly the Virgin Islands. I'm still looking and thinking but need to get to booking a trip pretty soon to lock in better rates. We were actually planning (during the month long 107 deg heat) on going to Colorado to enjoy some cooler weather but the more we thought about it we decided to opt for air/quick travel versus spending four long days on the road out of eight days and getting home wore out from the trip.
So it looks like it will be Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, St. Croix or St. John. I'm just not sure which yet and I'm hoping some of you guy's knowledge will help me decide.
