Anyone ever been to a celebrity superbowl party?

[rant warning]
This is the first time I've ever had a superbowl in my hometown and I was recently discussing this with someone. Tickets to the big game are out of the question (I think there's standing room only outside the stadium tickets for something like $300 :angerFU: ). I have mixed feeling about this, even though it's in my hometown, I can't do anything special because everything is so commercial (and expensive). Everyone is just trying to capitalize on the big game. Most of the bars & restaurants are doing "package only" deals. Like for $200 you get your choice of entree, dessert, and a bucket of beers. No way I'm paying that much for a $15 burger and some beers.

I remember in the past during spring break weekends at the beach, there would always be several concert parties. But they were the most horrible ones ever. Admission was expensive and general admission only. Then the musicians would take stage drunk and high and only sing 3 songs and call it a night. Nothing like a dedicated concert were you have an assigned seat, and your band will play for at least a full hour.

There's all these A and B-list celebrity parties for ~$150 a ticket.

Anyone ever been to one and what was your experience? Anything fun to do when the big game is in your hometown?

I went to several of the A list parties in Phoenix in '09 for the Basketball All star weekend, and had a blast, but we weren't paying 150 a ticket... I saw somewhere that superbowl tickets were going for somewhere in the neighborhood of 9K a pair, so maybe this event brings out a higher echelon
of "Baller"!

That being said... if you're single and looking to mingle and your pockets aren't hurtin.... Have fun! If not go to the store, buy a nice steak, and kick back!
