Hey all,

I dont get a chance to post much, i do get a chance to smoke quite a bit! I spent the weekend in northern NH and had the interesting experience of finding rae's cigars on main st. in Littleton, NH. I am curious if anyone else has ever been into this store, it was easily my worst experience in a cigar shop ever. Upon walking in i was immediatly treated with condiscending disrespect, I understand i am a younger guy, but thats no reason to treat me as if i were coming to your shop to buy a pack of rolling papers.

I guess i just really wanted to cry about my bad experience, but really if anyone has had a great time in that shop let me know.Other than that, avoid it like the plauge unless you are desperate for some davidoff's.

I was just up in the area this weekend but did not make it to Rae's. It seems like some people still cant fathom the fact that younger adults can have a love for Cigars. And it is way easier to judge first especially in a town that gets a lot of out of towners. Just be glad Mass and NH have a boat load of good B&M's that you can frequent.

Never been to that shop, however, the best advice I can give you to respectfully throw it in an "old timers" face is to know your shit.

I'm a 26 year old guy, covered in tattoos, and I live in Georgia; when I walk into a B&M outside of Atlanta, with a good ol boy shop owner, I get the vibe sometimes. But, I have good etiquette, I know what I like/dislike (brands, leaves, etc), and can communicate that in a respectful way. Knowledgeable enthusiasm is a great tactic for removing the "young guy" smoker stigma, as well as forging a relationship with your local B&M, IMO.

And the best part is that learning about cigars involves smoking them :) lots of different brands, sizes, countries, etc. Hate to hear that happened to you though brother!

I have gone to rae's several times in the past. He is somewhat introverted, but once you get to know him he is actually quite nice and helpful. In fact, I plan on placing an order with him this week. He ships out to Cali. If you happen to be in Littleton and have a few minutes to spare, spend some time asking him some questions, while doing so make sure he gets that you know your stuff. Good luck!
