Anyone here keep their cigar butts for pipe smoking?

I got the idea from a thing I read on Winston Churchill. His cigar butts were collected and given to his gardener which he smoked in his pipe. Would you want to grind them or cut them with a cutter a few time to get em to fit in the bowl?
Or a better question would the tobacco taste bad from sitting in the ashtray all day?

I leave the butts alone. I have pipe tobacco for pipe smoking.

There would be so much tar built up in the butts. That just sounds gross. I guess if you were desperate for the taste of tobacco or a nic addict you could do that, otherwise why would you want to?

I will admit to enjoying certain cigars so much that I have finished then in a pipe. I used one pipe for this practice as any of the others changed the flavor.

Never saved the stubs, but I've save the cut off caps. Sliced then up with a knife and blended them into pipe tobacco that needed help.
