Using it to learn Latin American Spanish. Almost through the first disc, and quite impressed. I have a couple of people at work, that are fluent, and they seem impressed. They could just be bull shitting me.

The only knock I have is that something like google translate is a must, as its all visual learning, and sometimes I cant figure out what in the picture is being taught. A brief english tutorial, ser and estar would have been nice also. I didnt get any books with the discs, so perhaps that type of info would be included if bought new.

Just curious if anyone else has experience with it, and if they stuck with it.

I have the German one and while I think it's good, especially with German, you have to stay on top of it. German is such an odd language how they put words together. Those that I know that have used Rosetta stone for latin based languages (spanish and italian) have done very well with it.

I am a languange teacher (Spanish), and from what I have seen, this program like all others can be good or bad. It sounds like you are dedicated which is indeed the key.

Like you have found, it is mainly a conversational course without the base in grammar that a full course could provide you with.

Learning a language is something that requires constant practice and study.... and study that vocabulary! :)

If you need any help with Spanish aquisition, let me know! :)

I am doing the Rosetta Stone Spanish Latin America as well. I am still on disc 1, but I am on unit 2. I am really remembering a lot of it from High School. One thing I don't like is the constant repetition. I feel that if I got a 100% in a certain area at least 3 times, I shouldn't have to do it again. But, I guess it is their way of making sure you know it.

My wife has tried it for Spanish and liked it, but hasn't really put the time into it. If you put the time in, I think it's a great program.
