Anyone shoot a 10 guage????

I have one I use for turkey, and backyard fun. Just love getting my buddies to shoot it......

So far, several have been too scared to try it. Those who have are about 50% for 50% "Don't ever hand me that thing again!!!!!"

Personally, I like my 10 guage.

I used to have a sawed off 12 gauge with a pistol grip, no stock.

Buckshot hurt after about 10 rounds, but only 2 slugs would cause alot of pain.

I let a friend shoot it once, and I assumed that he used his brain once in a while. I was behind him, picking up some shells out of a box, when I heard the gun go off, followed by a loud yelp.

He had held the gun up to his face, in order to sight down the barrel at the cinder blocks we were shooting at.

He was sporting a very nice black eye when we got back to base.

:)

Many, Many years ago mu dad let me shoot a double barrel ten that once belonged to my Great Uncle. Double trigger..........yep you guessed it. Hit the first one, then the second on the kick. A little surprised when my dad helped me up off the ground. My shoulder was sore for a week. Nice gun though.

Friend of mine (who moved, dammit) has a Winchester Model of 1887 lever-action shotgun chambered in 10-gauge. Helluvalotta fun to shoot.

Myself, I have a 12-gauge, mule-eared coach gun...that's a 20" side-by-side, with external, manually-cocked hammers.

Blackpowder (and BP substitute) shotgun rounds are a hoot, lemme tell ya.

I can remember taking my wife out to become familiar with all our firearms in Michigan, After shooting the S&W 38, Berretta, Colt and a couple of rifles, she says; "I think I like the 12 guage because I dont have to aim real hard and it feels like whoever I hit would not get up". Guys, dont try to break into my house.
