had octopus at a sushi bar one time. there were still suction cups on one side. a squid that size would probably have cups the size of your head!!!

On the regular tentacles they'd get to be about a foot or so across on a squid that size, but only nearest the body. They get smaller the farther away from the body they are. A size exception may be on the two long feeler/catcher tentacles, which might have a few that are even larger.

Interesting little fact here that's squid related. When viewing the night-time earth from high orbit, can you guess where the brightest spots of man-made light are located? <G> Out in the middle of the Pacific on the Japanese squid fishing fleet. Brighter than any city.
