Is it just me or was that link originally to the happy birthday robot? If not that was one funny glitch.according to http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand.aspx?brand=Romeo_y_Julieta they seem real.... just compare yourself again... and yes i would try it ... just get some 65% bodeva packs, wait for a few weeks and sample one
Many of the Cuban RyJs are great, but not because of strength, but flavor. If you are looking for strength to compare with a strong NC, I think you will be disappointed. The strongest of the Cuban RyJ line is probably the Cazadores, but they still aren't what I would call a "powerhouse"..
Are the RyJ cc's good or are they as weak as the nc's.
I think he is comparing the CC RyJs to the NC RyJs here, correct me if I am wrong Simian! and yes most of the RyJ cc's are way better than the "weak" RyJ nc's. They are actually completely different brands and do not have anything to do with each other I believe. Same goes for most other CC brands that have a NC brand with the same name. I think they pretty much just took the name from the CC brands e.g. Cohiba, Trinidad, Montecristo...the list goes on and on. So for example comparing a CC Montecristo with an NC Montecristo is like comparing apples to pickles...not even the same ballpark. Are the RyJ cc's good or are they as weak as the nc's.
I'd go with some boveda 62% packs.according to http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand.aspx?brand=Romeo_y_Julieta they seem real.... just compare yourself again... and yes i would try it ... just get some 65% bodeva packs, wait for a few weeks and sample one

+1 bingo, that part of the label is info for the roller to let them know which label for which cigar, should be covered.. Maybe it was a left handed roller that made a mistake, but I would be weary.I am a little skeptical, as the caps look a little odd in the close-up pics. Also, the band in the last image is on wrong. That "47-52" should be the end that is covered, if I am not mistaken.
+1 The signature of RyJ is the flavor profile. It is a wonderful profile of fragrances, which is why they have kept a very good name and virtually all of their vitolas intact as other CC brands have dropped some vitolas. When in good form, the RyJ is one of the premier CC sticks. And, of course, it has the CC twang. Not strong by any means, and considered a mild cigar by CC standards. Certainly mild compared to virtaully any NC. The vitola is one of their better ones, IMHO.Many of the Cuban RyJs are great, but not because of strength, but flavor. If the box got damp, the label could have come off. I would use the bands as the cross-check. I agree, the bands look good at first glance. The bands look OK, but the unattached Habanos label is a bad sign.
