Hey guys. I just picked up a Short Story and was just curious as to how hard the body should be. It is kinda hard with a little bit of a crunch noise. It doesn't crack though. However the fat part of the tip is rock hard. Something wrong with mine? Do I need to re-hydrate it in the humidor?

Any A.F. I have ever had has been packed super tight and been hard like that, yet they still draw well. if you just got it shipped to you, it certainly won't hurt to let it sit in the humi for a few weeks to make sure it's at the proper rh.

^^^ This.

Although I do find the Hemingway lines to be rolled harder than the others. As long as it has been stored properly and is at the right rH for you, you shouldn't have any problems with it.

cameroon is super fragile, and i would assume that rolling them VERY precisely, with a firm bunch and tight roll, would help cut down on wrapper damage. if they crack, you're screwed.

also, again, i have never had a plugged hemmi in 18 years. may be beginner's luck, though. o)

Generally I think you can trust Fuente's sticks. I cannot recall ever having a bad one, aside from me smoking in a hot tub, which made one super bitter, and was totally my fault. It was winter and my head was the only thing not submerged, so lots of extra humidity... :hammersma
