NOT what I'd planned on doing tonight.

We only had one person scheduled to work tonight and he called in sick just after noon. One person was out of state, two were on light duty due to on-the-job injuries. ALL the rest would not answer their phone(s!) (Accursed Caller ID!)

Anyway, Here I am... venting. (I really don't mind too much, didn't plan on going out anywhere, besides, what happens here is ultimately my responibility, so putting my money where my mouth is like this isn't such a bad thing.)

So...

[-]Everyone can kiss my ass[/-]
Happy New Year, everybody!!!

Bummer Doofus!
I'm still at home myself. I've got a cold and don't feel like leaving the house but I'm heading out shortly anyway. Prolly not for long though.

You'll be happy on payday!
I WISH.

As an administrator, I'm salaried, so no extra in the paycheck.

I do get all the free coffee and doughnuts I want, though. Does that count?

I'm half-way through the shift now, so I can see light at the end of the tunnel.

Man I feel your pain Doofus. . . Last year we were building the coffee shop that I now run (kinda) and it just so happened that we found a loophole and were able to open earlier than expected. So, after planning a party at MY apt. I was told "we're opening New Year's Eve and you are going to be here until we close" So while people were partying at MY APT I was working. . . totally sucked! stick in there bud! I was out tonight. . . I dunno about in your neck of the woods but here in Ft. Worth everything was outrageously expensive or completely dead!

Thanks for the sympathy, guys.

Jason, at least I didn't have a party raging at home while I worked. That must've bit a big one.

Down to less than an hour, so I'll recap the bright spot.

They have one of those First Night things in Old Town, so my cigar shop was open later than usual. I stopped by and they had one of my favorites in- AF Cuban Belicoso. I picked up a few and also the new Perdomo Estate Seleccion Vintage. Gorgeous tube- Kinda reminds me of the Cohiba SigVI tube, but all black. I always take the cigar out of the tube and inspect it before I buy it (Got one with mold one time) and, nice suprise, these things are covered in bloom. So I got one, put it all on my tab, and hung out for a bit with some of the other regulars. Very nice, and unexpected.

Oh, and when I went to get something to eat at 0200 hrs, I got a roast beef with provolone sub for half price.

Yipeee!!!

I turn into a punkin in 45 minutes, so by the time you read this, I'll probably be snugly tucked into my bed.

Again,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
