Autumn

is here. Although not till Thursday.

This morning got up @ 5:30 made a fresh pot of coffee for Donna (wife), Hazel (Mother-in-law) and myself. I grabbed a Don Pepin Garcia Blue (toro) and my turkey coffee mug and sat out on the back deck swing. It was 44 degrees clear and calm. At first light geese started flying. The most geese I have seen in many years, just flock after flock. Acorns falling from the trees, squirrels jumping from limb to limb helping many of the white and red acorns hit the ground. A couple of them coming up on the deck. Jen (dog) was just lying there by my feet watching them. Four deer in the pasture out back grazing away. The granddaughters chickens talking up a storm.

Guys the magical time of the year is here and if Donna would not have left for work before finishing my cigar it may have been magical for her as well.

I would have been at Quantico this morning with Jen looking to get on some turkey's but got a 0900 at the dentist. Maybe tomorrow.

My favorite time of the year. I love the leaves on the ground, the 72 degree days, the cool breeze... This is my favorite cigar smoking weather as well.

Fall is probably my favorite time of year. Saw a shooting star and a coyote on my morning walk this morning. Pretty cool.

Don't you just love it! Virginia left a bad taste in my mouth last year when I got that speeding ticket! I guess it ain't so bad in the fall. LoL by the way it was summer when I got tagged! Picture perfect my friend! Thanks for sharing.

Acorns keep falling on my head :sing:.....man we are also having a bumper crop of acorns this year (Harpers Ferry, WV), you really have to watch it. I believe they are the white oaks....Large green acorns, like these:

I too have been enjoying the crisp mornings, and even the dog seems to be enjoying it as much!

Glad you enjoyed it. Sometimes a solitary smoke and beverage are just what the doctor ordered.

My fantasy is to have my backyard be a Japanese rock garden. No maintenance, beauty, and soothing to the soul. It's a win all the way around.

Earl, I know what you mean as to how nice it is this time of year. I wish I had oaks; instead I have hickory and we are having a large nut year. There is a variety up the hill so the leaves fall at different times. Thanks for sharing the solitude this early.

Autumn and fall are my favorite. Of course living in Austin, we get a little longer summer and a long fall, short winter!:skew:
