Ok, I didn't think this was quite appropriate for the review thread. I just wanted to let everyone know, the Trompeta is alive and well after age.

I first bought a box of these right when they came out at a local B&M with the hopes of an excellent cigar. I was thoroughly disappointed, as it was very grassy and burned very hot (I'm sure others had the same experience). On top of that the construction was terrible, my cigar fell apart over the second third and I had to let it go out with about 2 inches left and a hell of a canoe burn for a good inch before that. I smoked two more in the following week with same experience. I wrote the box off as a bad decision.

After that I let them sleep and smoked one every 6 to 8 months with little improvement. The last one I smoked was in March, around the 2 year mark.

Well, I smoked one tonight.... completely different cigar. If you've been holding on to these or giving them to less experienced smokers, stop now. IMO these are wildly improved, with the flip of a switch after 2 1/2 years of age.

The smoke was plentiful, burned like a razor, solid ash, and I smoked it until I was burning my fingers. Good spicy but smooth smoke, about medium bodied. Unbelievable transformation.

If anyone has a LE12 stick they want to compare to the results I saw, I would be curious to see what somone else thinks.

Here are some pics.

Good to hear. I know a few brothers that have been very disappointed in those.
Yeah, I think I'm going to smoke another one tonight to make sure it wasn't a fluke haha I'd definitely be interested in getting a second opinion.

Maybe I can raid my buddies Humi for one of these. I was not smart enough to grab a few when they were released.

Haha just started the rack. I just recently set up the man cave you see in the pics... trying to build up my stock now.

I appreciate the offer! I am sure I can get one from him. I know he has one full sealed box but I think he has a few loose ones too.
