B&M treated me right

I felt it deserves to be mentioned whenever you have a good experience with a B&M that may not come up too much (at least in my very limited experience).

I purchased some sticks from a new B&M "Hill Country Cigars" out in spring branch, tx and went to smoke one a couple nights later and when I used my punch on the cap it just kinda exploded. I didn't take any pictures but it split pretty badly and I decided not to smoke it.

The next day I placed a call to Shane (the owner) and he didn't hesitate for one second and just said that I can bring it in a swap it out. The other nice thing about this instance was that it took me quite a while to get back to his shop (like 3 weeks long) and as soon as I walked in he recognized why I was there let me grab the new stick and that was that.

This may not seem like a big stretch in customer service to some people but since I unfortunately have a non-existent cigar budget it hits me pretty hard if I lose the chance to smoke a stick due to circumstances I couldn't control. Needless to say that I will be directing my purchases his way if he treated my small purchase with such value!

Kudos to that B/M.

While I'm friends with the owner of my B/M...I have to say he most likely wouldn't have done the same thing. Even to me, who helps around his shop for no charge. He does work with me on prices from time to time on specialty items but at other times I tell him he's the only Jewish Lebanese guy I know.

For instance...he put in lockers in the shop and I share one w/ another regular. I had bought some Oliva Melanios and stored them in the locker. His employees were filling the humidification system with regular tap water and what do you know, the cabinet started growing mold. My melanios were ruined and he didn't swap them for me, instead gave me a Perdermo sampler instead. I wasn't that happy, but accept he's just that way. Therefore when it's time for big purchases I buy from BOTL sponsors.

So my point is you've got a great owner there and I'd support him too if I was in the area.

It's always good when your local B&M store does right by their customers. I go to several B&Ms in my area, and haven't had a reason to complain about too many.
