What an interesting few hours I just had.

The wife came home today and said she felt like she was getitng the flu. She had a temp of 99.7. So she took some Nyquil and took a nap. Later in the evening she still is not feeling better, temp up to 100.9. I was sitting on the couch watching the race and talking to sgresso in chat when she got up to go to the bathroom. I hear this noise like she dropped the bottle of soap. I call her name once and get no reply. Call her agian and still no reply. I spring up to my feet run into the bathroom and she is passed out on the floor. I get her to wake up and she is sitting on the floor and passes out agian. At that point I called 911. As the EMT's are on the way I get her to come wake up. Now this has only been a few seconds she was out, but seemed like hours to me. I hate that feeling.

With every EMT call the police have to show up as well. The wife works for the city, so when the name and address went out several officers we know responded. Then the EMT's get there and of course they are friends of ours too. The neighbors must of thought I beat her. They ran some tests and really didn't find much. So off to the ER we go. Amazingly there was no wait we just went right in. After some test and a CAT scan do to her smashing her head on the wall when passing out. They said she has a flu like virus, dehydrated, plus mixing the Nyquil with the other medicine she is on for her allergies was like taking meth.

Thankfully she is now home sleeping in our bed and will spend sunday relaxing.

I cannot remeber the last time I was this scared. When her eyes rolled into the back of her head and I could not get her to wake up was the worst expierence so far in my life.

Maybe tomorrow I will tell you about the freaks that were coming into the ER.

man that's a scary thing. I don't know if I've shared it with you guys, but meth and I got along really well for a while. Fortunately I never had to do anything like that, but the thought crossed my mind many a time. I really hope that she's okay, and let me know if you guys need anything!

Derek,

Thank God your wife is okay. Anytime you need to call 911 it's very scary. I went through this several months ago with my wife, the medical profession is wonderful, all is well once again.

Hope to hear soon that you wife has rested and is back to normal. Then you can relax too.

God Bless...

Mike

Wow Derek! I guess the honeymoon didn't last too long until real life hit. Glad to hear she's going to be okay.

Thanks Guys!

She has one hell of a head ache this morning but she is doing much better.

I think all the weirdo's come out when it starts getting warm out. Some of the people in the ER were crazy, for exmaple, young kid and his gf or wife (in early 20's) bring in thier 1 year old child. He feels that since the child has not been cured in the 3 minutes he was there so far he has to start attacking the nurses and doctors. Needles to say after he was pepper sprayed they had to taser him to get him under control and arrested. Some of the nurses were saying they could smell alcohol on him. Some days I wonder whats worng with people, why attack the people trying to help you...

Glad she is OK nor Derek. Very common type of call the I as an EMT run. High fever, vomiting, nausea, dehydrated. Usually her symptoms cause by spike in the fever. Normally they go to the hospital for IV hydration and get discharged in a few hours. Lots of water and bed rest best thing for her. Glad nothing worse.

And hell yes there are a lot of freaks out there as well. Don't get me started with the shit that is out there.

Whoa! Glad to hear she's ok Derek.

I passed out at work once. Scared the crap out of me and the people there. I had just started taking meds for panic attacks and after being in the hospital all day getting tests done they concluded that they didn't know what happened. Must have been a massive panic attack from some of the stuff that was going on in our area at the time.
