I've seen pictures from the previous CT barn smokers and looks like a great time.

I missed out on the CT one this year because I was too slow to buy a ticket. Maybe next year I'll get there. It's on my bucket list to go at least once.

I have been going for the past 2 years in CT and going again this year, it is definitely a great time and can't beat it for $90 for the knowledge and food.

I was able to speak with Willy Herrera and Jon Huber 1:1 for at lest 45 mins uninterrupted on more of the farming side and logistics.

$90 would seem like you were buying an ugly hooker and for an additional $10 she will brush her tooth. Drew Estates just seem too gimmicky and only about taking money from your pocket and putting it in theirs. My opinion only!

usually they throw in a rare liga in the sampler they hand out. Also, I've heard a lot of people bring their own smokes and go just to hang out with others.

It may be a great deal and I'm sure it appeals to many Liga fans. Somewhere along the way my opinion of Drew Estates went sour. I bet they have a great turnout and memorable time. I am just not a fan.

Yup, it is more of a big cookout than an shop event as they don't sell/push products and people more or less handing out. Don't get me wrong but there are some hardcore DE fans there...

You do get some hard to find items such as ligament "a", velvet rat, ratzilla, Herrera TAA which is worth the price of admission.

Mid 2011? For me, they haven't put out anything decent other than velvets/ratzilla/L40 since then.

It was more like 2013 for me. I smoked a few of the ones everyone was chasing and didn't see the value. I fell out then.
Both the #9 and T52 were different after 2011. Just couldn't smoke them. Ratzillas were okay at best new but fantastic last year.

They don't make money off the Barn Smoker. I believe they take most of the money, and give it to charity. It's costs a lot of money to put together an event like this with all the people they bring to the event, and the food and drinks. I know a lot of people from the company, and they are some the most honest and generous people in the industry.

That is good to know. And if this is done to support charity, then they have my respect.
