Figured I'd keep with the theme, considering I think some good information was generated from the last one (at least I thought so).

So what are some thoughts on these two rather agressively priced robustos? Note, I'm trying to pick sticks that are close in price...as that lends itself toward a decision based solely on performance, and not on cost (even though cost is ALWAYS a factor).

The 1st and only Trini T I've smoked was very good. I had it at the beach this weekend, and only after a couple weeks of nap time. Considering the circumstances it was still a little wet (perhaps due to beach humidity, perhaps acclimation from travels, or both)...but it was excellent! Very clean finish, some nice tea/honey flavors to it that I'd not experienced before. I was VERY happy with the first sample

The CoRo...I know nothing about it. Never smoked one. I've had a couple Siglo VI's from 07(which were good, yet not amazingly good IMO to justify the price) but never the Robusto.

What are peoples thoughts on these sticks?? If you've smoked both, which do you prefer? If you've only smoked one, not the other, what did you think??

Both great cigars! The Trini is tea and honey to me while the Cohiba is straight vanilla bean. Very different taste profiles but both hit that sweet spot for me.

Never had a Trini T but like Trinidads so would love to try one. I've only had 4 Cohibas in my life, a Lancero from '01 which was great (but really tight) and then 2 CoRos and a Sig IV that were all only "good," and not good enough to justify the price. It could be they simply need to age, I don't know.

At the end of the most recent Robusto I got some hints of great flavors and thought "if this is what the whole cigar was like, I could see the fervor."

For me the Trini T is miles ahead of the CoRo. Easily my favorite robusto and might be my favorite regular production CC.

Anybody out there dislike the CoRo??....think it's over rated perhaps?

Not necessarily 2009 or 2010 stuff.....but 2008 in particular. Seemingly has been discussed as a great year for a lot of Habanos across the board. Wonder if the same holds true for the CoRo.

I've personally experienced an 09' Trini T, and yes, even with minimal age....it was very nice. As I said before, the humidity issues prevented me from enjoying the last 1/3 to the fullest, but the first 2/3 of that smoke were awesome.

Agree 100% I actually prefer Cohiba in general to Trinidad, but CoRos never impressed me & ther Trini T is by far the best Trini of all- at least for my taste.

Kyle, I have smoked both and IMHO the Robusto T is a better smoke... In fact, probably my favorite Cuban so far!!!

I don't have a ton of experience with Cohiba but, the ones I have smoked are just okay... Of course, I just received a Cohiba Maduro that might change my mind... LOL

I hope this helps...

Both are outstanding, but different (100% agree with the Tea vs vanilla bean comparison). Great input from all, but for my taste the T is a bit better young & the CoRo wins out with some age.

Imo ALL Cohibas need time and the Robusto to, I have smoked maybe 3 boxes and they are good, but only smoked one 12ct box of the Trinidad Robusto T, and it is the best Robusto on the market imho. To be fair I dont think one can give advice based on one box but it seems that most people enjoy the Trinidad and it is very complex dispite its age.

Smoked both a Trini Robo T, and a CoRo this morning...

Have to agree with some of the others who commented that they love both, and for different reasons..

The Trini T was 1st. Smoke was very "elegant" (not a term I use often, or ever...but it works with this cigar...no doubt about it). Not huge on the nic kick, but flavors made for a perfect way to start the morning..

Next up was the CoRo. Talk about a sleeping giant. Full and Robust, with very nice vanilla and caramel flavors.

I honestly am glad I don't have to choose....And can now enjoy the pleasure of both. Not that my endorsement is worth much, but anyone on the fence of pulling the trigger of either of these, truly cannot go wrong.

A great way to spend a Sunday morning indeed!

While I admit the CoRo was not that old, it was thoroughly enjoyable. The Trini was just so different and great in a way that I can see how people love them obsessively or just don't like them.

Glad you don't have to choose! I think these cigars compliment each other in a way that allows one to enjoy them each that much more.

.........DEFINITELY gonna move on both of these sticks when school ends. :)
