OK, I understand this is a very well written show that doesn't get the press that it deserves. But they made Apollo a girl didn't they? Cylons don't have the lite brite eye anymore.

What is this world coming to???

SciFi channel.

And yes, they made Apollo a girl. And she's pretty dang hot. They still have the lightbright eye, but other than that they aren't much like the original cylons. It's a great show that modernizes the original BattleStar Galactica while still keeping alot of the original plot lines, names, etc.

We might be dorks, but there are some hot chicks on that show!!!! Lucy Lawless, Tricia Helfer, Kandyse McClure, Grace Park, and Katee Sackhoff. (Not necessarily in that order.) Well written and excellent production values. Did I mention the hot chicks?

Actually, Starbuck is a girl. A hot girl named Katee Sackhoff.

Hot chicks aside, the show is VERY well written, and has incredible actors. The balance of "ohhhh shiny" vs. "very dramatic" vs. "real world problems" is very well done.

I liked the first Battlestar Galactica when I was 8, but then again I was 8. When I first saw the new show I was completely blown away by the quality and reality.

I was so happy with the new Battlestar, I went back and watched the old shows when they came up on the Sci Fi channel. And they just sucked. :(

The new show is really good, but I am not sure if I would go around calling it the best show on tv. ONE of the best, but not the best.

"By your command........."

I still enjoy the old Battlestars, but you do have to work a bit harder at the "suspension of disbelief" than you did when you were a kid, that's for sure.

I'd go with best show on the SciFi channel, but yeah, not best show on TV.

Season 2 I found a little slow but the end two episodes were excellent. Need to get away from all the angst and get on with some Cylon encounters. Probably get it in the UK next year then if out now in the US. Shows here on Sky One rather than Sci-Fi.

Sci-Fi here re-showing the new version of Salems Lot with Rob Lowe at the moment which is an excellent adaptation.
