While in Texas last week, I discovered one of the finer things in life during this trip.
That would be BBQ from Junior's Barbecue in Red Oak, Tx, followed by a Mag46. It is nothing short of spiritual.
In all of my trips to Tx, I've had plenty of BBQ, but, though it was good, I never had the "Aha" moment that would justify the lofty pedestal on which Texans place their BBQ. Turns out, I had just never been to the right place. I had their short ribs and brisket and what my wife didn't eat of her loaded baked potato with brisket (Kinda their signature offering. It was the best baked potato I've ever had.)
And the Upmann afterwards, it was pure nirvana.
We've already made plans to go back to Tx this summer. I know the FIRST place I'm headed.
