I know there was a post up not too long ago regarding beetles, but as I'm smoking my RomaCraft tonight I came across this perfectly circular pinhole in my ash. I've heard about them, but have never encountered them. To be honest, the cigar is still as tasty as it was when I started.

Beetle or no??

Hard to say, was there a hole in it before you burned past that point
Don't know. Saw it at this point so I took a picture. A buddy of mine said it was more than likely an egg, but not to be too concerned unless there were holes titled throughout which there were not. Just that one. I'll keep an eye on things for the next couple days. Just re seasoned my humi's so don't really want to freeze them right now.

I would probably inspect every stick just to be sure. Tough to tell since it was in the ash.

I've came across the same thing in a smoke last night. That's exactly what I thought too. All my sticks look so far so good. Humi around 69.7* yesterday…

Did you noticed any particular nuanced flavors at that point? Just trying to figure out what burning beetle larvae bring to the party.

Could be a leaf blemish. Like here you can see the hole is on the wrap, not in the binder.

I really didn't. The aroma from those particular RomaCraft is absolutely incredible. The only thing I noticed was that pin hole. Lol

I'm not sure, it was pretty deep into the ash, but I don't remember seeing it before I lit up. I didn't really look at the cigar that detailed until after I saw the hole. That's the only hole I found though..

Did it taste larv-ish?
Nay.. it was delicious. Lol
To the cigar or her? Haha
Fortunately for me, this time, I was paying attention to her. hahaha.
