I've never been that big on beer. I like some of the summer ales and lighter, sweeter stuff like that, and for some reason also Killians. The main reason I haven't been a big fan of beer is that it's often bitter, and I hate bitter flavors.

But when we visited Sapporo, Japan, I found that I really liked Sapporo beer. Now I've been enjoying a few others as well.

I need to find something that I like that is low in calories, because I'm trying to loose weight, so getting into beer right now is a bad plan, lol. I'm looking for easy-to-find stuff for now.

Suggestions?

I went through a light beer craze, I was also tired of tasting bitter beers. I found that pale ales where exactly what I was looking for; Sierra Nevada (there are a few flavors) and on the cheap Rolling Rock.

Well Nate IMO I'd rather have one full beer a day then 5 lite beers if I were on a diet. Stick with the good stuff instead of water.

May not apply to you but My $.02....Saving 50 or 100 calories on a beer versus cutting out, for example, a McDonalds lunch with a large coke is silly. I lost 20+ pounds eating right, working out, quitting soda and continued to drink all my favorite beers (which being a homebrewer are NOT low cal beers).

That said, there's only 2 "light beers" I will ever request in a pinch. Sam Adams Light or Amstel.
