Going to Myrtle Beach next week over my birthday. I wish it was for pleasure but I'm traveling for work so I thought I'd at least treat myself. Anyway looking for some suggestions for a smoke for that day and a place to smoke it. Although I have been smoking for years I still consider myself a neophyte because I haven't been really "tasting" until recently...

A typical smoke for me is a Hemingway Classic or Short Story (almost to the exclusion of anything else) but I have been trying to get out of that rut and try some different things as I try to develop my tasting skills. Recent smokes have been Ghurka Shaggy and LFD Double Ligero. I have a CAO MX2 for this weekend. What direction to go? Camacho? My father? Tatuaje? :help:

Yeah, I know it's a totally wide open question...

As for place to smoke I only know about the Irish bar. I saw some B&M places on the map but not sure if any have a good place to hang out and smoke.

I say run to the nearest BM and find a Padron 80th! It's the best B-day smoke you can have bar none. If you can't get that get a padron Anni 44,45,46, and if that's a bust then a Padron Anni 64 Pyramid. Any of these will provide you with a feeling of bliss! Damn I love Myrtle. Been 20 some years since I've been there. I know your in for a good time!!

My suggestions for Myrtle Beach...

http://www.smokingpipes.com/ - This is my favorite B&M in the Myrtle Beach area...

http://www.tinderboxcigars.com/ - Two locations: Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing

http://www.nickscigarworld.net/ - Several locations...the one in N. Myrtle Beach is the biggest of them all.

http://www.eastendcigars.com/products.asp...a unique little cigar shop with several different lines of house brands and some that are hand-rolled on premises...

If it were me, I'd try to hit them all...

I suppose it's only fair to report back. I chose instead of 1 limited cigar to instead make a week of it and buy several decent cigars while on my trip! Among them were some from East End, a CAO Brazillia Gol!, and a Tatuaje Havana VI Nobles. The Tatuaje was the best experience - mild but flavorful and no burn issues at all. I was enjoying the Gol! but burn issues plagued me out on the Boardwalk so I will try one again under better conditions.
