Bitter Short Story

I lit up a short story after work today and it was very bitter the whole way through. This was from a box I bought in Jan. The thing is this is not the first SS that has been bitter. I have had several other ones that have had this same flavor profile.
I was wondering if others have experienced this with the SS?
I have smoked through 2/3 of the box and about 5 have been bitter. The others have been great. I smoked one last week that was excellent. I am going to need another box of short smokes soon and don't want to spend the money on these if this is the norm.

I have a friend and almost all he smokes is short stories... I have never heard him complain about the sticks being bitter... maybe it was just that box?

short storys are pretty consistent biggest problem is having the wrapper torn by removing the band

Hmmmm.... Interesting. I have only heard good things before too. It's weird I will have several great ones and think I definitely need to buy more and then out of nowhere I will have a bitter one and think twice about getting more.
It sounds like this is not normal so hopefully The rest will be good.

The short story is one of the easiest cigars to smoke, however they can be rushed just as easy. Smoking them too fast will make them bitter. These are one of my daily smokes, and 45 minutes is about the smoke time if care is taken, they can be stretched to an hour if nubbed.

Since you smoke them daily have you ever had any bitter ones? How long do you let them rest?

I hann't had one for a while but never really had a bad one, that being all bitter. I have had a coupl;e cigars now and then from a box that were bitter or stale/dry tasting and the others were all fine.
