Boli GM Differences

OK gents, need some expert advice here. recently acquried a box of bolivar gold medals. opened them up and compared them with a single i had in the humi. the acquried box has the gold foil that is kinda dimpled. the one i had from an unknown sender has smooth foil. the bands on both look the same in color but the size of the band itself is different. the smooth foil band is slightly larger than the textrued foil. both casa del habano bnads are the same sizxe however.

the sticks themselves are size the same and the wrapper color is dead even.

is this normal?

oh, and the box is from 09 and the single is from 08, or so i'm told.

Pics would help but I have had at least 10 boxes from 08 and 09 and have not seen "dimpled" foil???

If I recall the last box I bought, which was a couple of months ago, had plain gold foil unfortunately I smoked them all so can't go back and check but I'll ask Fauzi to check his box and see the type of foil on it.

Yes dimples can be normal...09 especially...I have 6 boxes from every year 06-09 and 09 3-6 boxes has dimples

Box code AGO09. Is this the dimpling of foil you mention?

Looks like the smooth foil except it might have been handled (drooled on? :grin: ) too much. Let's not over analyze what supposed to be a relaxing hobby.

ckay...yes, that's the textured foil i speak of.

guess i won't get too worried about authenticity until i smoke one. that'll be a couple weeks though.

Gold foil is something that isn't easily aquired in Cuba..... I mean after all it did delay the release of the Punch Diademas by 2 years!

Yeah isn't the foil the reason they discontinued the gms originally?
