I am getting ready to make my next purchase. From reading reviews I have narrowed it down to Bolivar Coronas Gigantes or Hoyo Churchills. I was quite fond of the RyJ Churchills. I like a dark rich cigar, more than creamy.

Any objective comparison would be helpful.

Thanks

Yep, the RA Gigantes a great!

Between the BCG and HdM Church, I'd pick the BCG and I'm not a huge Boli fan. The HdMs can be a lack luster experience, IMHO.

I'd throw in the SLR DC above them all though

Hope this helps

Another vote for the Boli's. The SLR Churchill is very good as well. Hoyo's are very mild. Personally, I have never had a good RA cigar; old or new. That line just does not agree with me. . .FWIW - I am without a doubt in the minority on this one. . .at least on this board. . .:rolling:

I actually found Hoyos Churchills to be worth trying. Since I do not like Bolivar, I may be unfair on the gigantes but I still say the Churchills are good purchase.

I actually like the Hoyos, too, but I've never had the churchill. I really like the Epi 2. Take it for what it's worth from a fairly new habanos, but veteran NC, smoker.

By both. :stretchgr

The Boli's are great cigars and much more full bodied whereas the Hoyo's can be enjoyed as a wonderful afternoon smoke lounging around the pool; I do. The RAG is also a great cigar as well as the SLR. And let's not forget Winnies too. There are way too many to choose from. Just make the purchase and don't look back; enjoy them. Buy the other box next month and then enjoy both.

Good luck!

I don't have experience with recent stock of either but do have BCG from '02 and Hoyo Churchills from '98.

The BCG are full strength and almost unsmokeable at this point. Very rich, earthy and but not yet showing true Bolivar profile.

The Hoyos are medium strength and body, nutty, cocoa flavors and very flavorful overall. I would not consider these to be mild by any means.

Thanks guys, from the sounds of it I will like the BCG better than the Hoyos.
