could it be CCUN?

That would be 01/99
Ray, I was thinking the same thing. The rest of the code fits the early 1999 series. The EEO portion is for the Juan Cano Sainz, formerly Por Larrañaga, factory, for the first part of the 1999 time frame.

January UN
February UE
March UT
April UA
May UG
June UI
July UD
August UO
September UC
October NU
November NN
December NE

Number Codes

1 N
2 E
3 T
4 A
5 G
6 I
7 D
8 O
9 C
0 U

OCUN would be problematic...it would either be 07 of 81, which would be before the code used to get that date was in use (NIVELACUSO 1985-1998 I think?) or 01 of 89 which would again be before the code used to get that date (NETAGIDOCU from 1999).

CCUN is much more likley and would be January of 99 as Fredneck noted.

EEO is the Por Larranaga Factory, Juan Can Sainz and is from the 99 codes, so that's another strong indicator that you are looking at a box from 1999.

Could be good, could not, but you won't know until you crack the box. 99 has been known to have some construction issues, but then again, I've also heard that such worries were overblown.

I have smoked some mighty fine cigars from '99, but I have also seen a few QC issues. My personal experience has been that the smaller ring gauges can have draw problems a bit more frequently. I mostly agree with Jason that the QC issues are overblown. The good news is that because of the QC paranoia there are a lot of '98 - 2000 smokes available. . .:smokingbo

I agree, though there were some QC issues, they were mostly overblown imo and not all marcas were really affected. Enjoy those smokes.
