Box Aging Question...

The Tat TAA's are wet packed in foil, and have the usual shrink wrap over the box.

I will usually leave the shrink wrap on the box, but I am more concerned about whether or not to remove the foil packaging :dunno:

Since the cedar boxes are designed to ensure proper aging, seems like ditching the foil would be a good idea (?) :dunno:

(....of course removing the foil means removing the shrink, so.....)

Any/all comments and/or suggestions are welcome! :tiphat:

I don't think the shrink wrap on the cigar box is gas permeable like cellophane, so you might want to remove it. But, I've heard of guys putting away cigars boxes in zip lock bags for aging to restrict air flow since they believe to helps with the aging process. I don't have an answer and want to see what someone else posts... I can say that the shrink wrap is likely not gas permeable. For my TAAs, I removed the shrink wrap, but kept the cigars in the wet pack.

Yeah, I usually take the plastic off the box and leave it in wax/foil/whatever

Kind of your preference really. The wet foil actually allows the cigar to age more slowly. I personally would keep them in the foil because some NC's don't age very well that long.

Correct, and I beleive this slows the aging process, which should mean they'll retain their spiciness a bit longer if kept in the foil.
