this may seem like a dumb question, but for those that frequent local lounges, what is the unspoken etiquette on bringing your own CCs to smoke there? while inside purchasing something, i've seen a lot of guys bring their own smokes, but i can't really remember seeing any "forbidden" sticks. granted i haven't actually smoked at any of the lounges so im not sure if its common or frowned upon. i have no real desire to do this, im just kinda throwing the question out there (gotta love distracting yourself from work).

I've never been questioned at a lounge if what I'm smoking is forbidden. Most all the guys at the lounge I go to bring their cigar caddy's stocked full of all kinds of different cigars.

They don't seem to mind as long as you are not there just smoke your own cigars, and spend no money. Be sure to buy some food, drinks etc. and give your server a decent tip at the end of the day/night and you should always be welcome.

I would recommend buying at least one stick at the B&M for every CC you smoke there. Don't flash that shit around too much or tell other people where to get Habanos, because it hurts the shop's business.

If they have a members' lounge, just purchase a daily pass to the private lounge ($10-15) and then you can smoke and drink whatever you like.

The best option is just to buy a stick from the B&M's humidor and smoke it there. Padron Annis, La Riquezas, Cabaiguans, etc. are pretty on par with most Habanos.

Just remember that it's tough for a B&M to be profitable, and if you're using their smoking lounge, chip in your fair share.

I just take cigars I want to smoke. If that means CCs, then it means CCs. Of course, every establishment will have their own rules; you'll have to use your own judgment on whether to break their rules or not if they have a NO CC policy.

FYI, regardless of whether I bring my own sticks, I always try to buy a few sticks while at the b&m. That's their business after all.

Ive actually gifted and smoked Htfs (tat blacks) and CCs with my shop owner. It wasnt over night but once I hung around for a while and got to know him and everyone else its no problem. I also make it a point to buy at least something 8/10 times im there. If i bring something in he knows im not hurting his business. I go 2-3 times a week so the 1 time I bring in something he knows i've more then made up for it. Hell sometimes I bring 10 smokes with me but if I'm not in the mood I still go for a BM smoke. Im sure this is the same statement from others as well.

i've bought probably a dozen to 15 smokes from this place. never stayed there, always went home. ive been thinking about hanging out there soon, but with the warmer weather coming, i'll probably find myself on my porch a lot more than trying to smoke in my basement (or thinking about going to a lounge). although it's never a bad thing getting friendly with guys that run the shop... thanks for reading and taking time to respond guys.

solid advice given! each place has their own rules. buy a stick or two while you're there. keep quiet re: what you're smoking, and take the band off if necessary. and enjoy!!

I bring my cigar caddy with me to my b&m. It allways has a few of my favorite sticks in it. I go straight to the lounge say my hellos & light up. Then after some nice herfing I wonder the store. I buy something 8 out of 10 times. I've smoked cc's there a few times & never had an issue. I've never broadcast it, but I didn't hide it either. I've also had other guys smoke cc's in front of me there, just not the workers. My b&m seems to be laid back as far as most things go.

I always buy a few cigars, then either smoke one of theirs or fire up my own.

I always buy a few of the B&Ms cigars and then smoke what I want, if it's something I brought in it's always naked when I smoke it.
