So in the two plus years I've been able to call this wonderful forum home, I've met some great people. Never in any other aspect of life have I seen people be so generous in so many ways. It's truly a unique environment for those who love cigars so very much.
But, there is one particular brother I'd like to call out. DSCL. Jay.
Long ago when I participated in my first box pass, I had the task of dropping off the box to Jay at his home in the two towns over. This would be the first time I would meet him, and I would never know how much that encounter would change my life forever.
Long story short, Jay and I became the best of friends, and today because of him, I start the second week of my new career at Oracle. Jay's a manager there and was able to pull strings to get me a position making more money for less hours than what I'd been doing for the previous 10 years.
Even though I've told him, I just wanted to thank him one more time for giving me the opportunity at a job I was truly happy walking into every day. The new position will change many aspects of my life for the better, and I'll finally be able to put my four year degree as a Telecom major to use, instead of turning wrenches as a mechanic.
To all the new guys on the board, this place isn't just about cigars. What we have here is a place to build lifelong friendships that go much deeper than tobacco. It's simply that leaf that links us together. I can't thank Jay enough for all he's done....sir, hats off. And Eric, thank you so very much for providing us a place like no other to call home.
